Letter to Future Self- 1.

Dear Eman,

I meant to write this to you a week or so ago but could not find the time or rather was little too lazy. However, I feel it is imperative I write this letter to you today.

I first wish to remind you...tell you... well, i hope, that whenever you read this letter you read it with the same openness of heart that you have in you today.

I'll start with the hope that the world hasn't robbed you of your optimism and happiness.

What prompted me to write this letter was when I recently saw you smile at strangers and wish airport employees and hawkers Happy Diwali. These gestures made me realise you're still preserved from the toxins of the world where people forget to aplogise for ramming into each other and well Trump has won the election, etc etc But then I figured what if you change? You know you'll grow up and get busy and then what? So here goes.

Eman. Please. Never be so caught up in work to forget to smile at someone around you. Never become so tall and proud that you forget wish everyone the joys of a festival like you do today.
I have seen you give love more than you were capable of. While I hope you've learnt to not drain yourself out, I do hope you still love with every bit of your being. I am sure by now, your heart must have suffered more damage at the hands of friends , family and more. But I hope, with all my heart, that you don't give up on love. That you always love with everything you have.

Also. You are probably the strongest today that you have been in you life so far. You know today that you are capable, strong and independent. Never forget that.
I have seen you rise from the ashes. Never stop believing that you are much stronger and bigger than whatever this world throws your way. Your life is much bigger than the people you think it's made up of today.

There is always a new beginning for you if you need one.

Eman, your most important work of art is yourself. Never stop working on yourself and fulfilling your personal goals. I hope by now your goal of having a schedule consisting fitness, knowledge and creativity is getting fulfilled.

Please never let the world make you so busy that you forget who you really are.

Lots of love and best wishes,
Your Past at its Wisest.
