The Best Holiday of My Life.
Why have I never written about the best holiday of my life? I don't have an answer but I do have a solution. This.
The best holiday of my life was the best for one reason because it was just that. A holiday. There were no schedules, no to-do lists, no places to see list- it was a vacation, a vacation in Thailand.
So we had just shifted cities from Chandigarh to Lucknow owing to my dad's job and I'd had a horrible bout of chicken pox, so my summer hadn't exactly been fun or relaxing. There were two weeks for school to start and we had just come back from my grandmother's house after dinner when I suggested toy dad that it felt like a good time to go on a holiday. We looked up countries which offered on-arrival visas and viola! there we had tickets booked for four days later to go to Pattaya and Bangkok for a good week. No extensive planning, nothing- we just made a spontaneous plan and followed through and had the best holiday ever.
Pattaya is a beautiful town by the sea. We stayed in a hotel shaped like a ship and interiors accordingly so, right across from the beach. We spent our days walking the beach, taking long afternoon naps, going to beautiful city spots and how can I forget our favourite: The Coral Beach. A beautiful beach a little way off from the mainland. We went underwater walking, paragliding, swimming in the sea, sipping away on the most wonderful tender coconut water I've ever tasted.
By the time we reached Bangkok we had recharged enough to be in a bit of party mood. We spent one evening on a luxurious cruise having sumptuous dinner along a beautifully lit city. And the rest of our time we mainly spent shopping. Bangkok is the best destination to go shopping in all the places I've been outside of India so far. Since the forex rate isn't very steep, shopping isn't expensive but the range and quality of clothes, shoes, accessories and even electronics is amazing! It escapes my mind a bit but there is an electronics mall called Platina, I'm pretty sure and there is a clothing mall right next to it which are the ultimate places to go crazy shopping.
I really wish I could have explored more places around Thailand since I'reheard cities like Phuket have amazing beaches as well. Well, until next time I guess.
That's all I have for now. See you. Until next time, keep looking.
